Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I need to complete CPR & First Aid training?

The provision of CPR and First Aid are practical skills. If these skills are not used regularly, your ability to perform them with confidence and capability will diminish over time.

The Australian Resuscitation Council and Safe Work Australia’s Code of Practice on first aid in the workplace recommends that:

  • CPR is refreshed every 12 months.
  • First Aid is completed every 3 years.

Refreshing your training at these recommended intervals will ensure you remain ready to respond when it matters most.

Technically, the minimum age for completing nationally recognised training is 10 years of age.

However, meeting the minimum age requirement does not automatically mean an enrolment will be accepted. It is important to ensure that the student is sufficiently mature and is capable of successfully undertaking all assessment elements prior to enrolment.

The minimum age to attend a course without an adult is 14 years of age.

There is no maximum age to attend.

Trainers have the right to refuse entry of any student that arrives after the scheduled start time.

To ensure you are adequately prepared for training, all students are required to complete their online course work prior to their face-to-face session when undertaking the online with face-to-face assessment delivery mode.

If you have provided a mobile number upon enrolment, an SMS reminder will be sent 1 day prior to your course.

If a student attends their face-to-face training session without having completed their pre-course work, it will be at the trainer’s discretion to decide whether the student can stay. The trainer’s decision will be based on the students previous training history and their pre-existing knowledge.
